Keeping Your Camper Trailer Clean
Keeping Your Camper Trailer Clean
Camping trailers are a lot of fun when taking a trip to the great outdoors. They offer
comfort, warmth and security to those who can’t take harsh weather conditions or would
like sleeping in a warm bed rather than the ground. It should be cleaned after every trip or
from time to time when it is stored for a long period of time. Cleaning the camper trailer
takes time and effort but it can be done once you have organized everything properly.
1 . The camper trailer must be cleaned throughout the year. When washing, use warm
water and a mild detergent. Never use abrasive cleaners as they can do damage on
the camper shells. The caps and the top openings should be cleaned every month
to avoid dirt from building up. A brush should be used to take away the debris and
dirt on its canvas. If left unclean, this can turn into mildew or mold.
2 . To make sure that the camper trailer’s interior is clean, set a rule that everybody
who enters it must wipe off the dirt from their shoes. Wipe the dust away from
cabinets, faucets, sinks and other appliances using a moist cloth. Keep bugs and
rodents from invading the camper by removing the stovetop plates and cleaning
the crumbs and spills. To avoid grease buildup in the stove’s aluminum filter,
soak it in warm, soapy water. The fridge should also be regularly cleaned by
taking away the old and uneaten food.
3 . Vacuum the carpet, cloth blinds and window sills frequently to remove the dusts.
For wood and linoleum floors, mop them using a damp cloth to remove stains.
Don’t use brush with hard bristles that may cause unsightly scratches and dents
on the floor. Metal blinds should be removed and cleaned by spraying with a mild
cleaner or soaking it in a tub of warm water.
4 . Toilet seats and lids much be cleaned using a disinfectant cloth. For sinks and
faucets, you can use a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar for cleaning.
You can also use this mixture to clean the accordion shower. Remove and wash
the plastic or fabric shower curtains. If the curtains are covered with mildew,
throw them away. Wash the bedding, blankets and throws to maintain the camper
trailer’s cleanliness.
Cleaning the camper trailer must always be done. This is to make sure that it will not
deteriorate fast. Having a clean camper will also ensure your family’s health every time
you use it on your trip. If you have the ability to store it under cover (even under a carport
or in a larger garden shed) is great as it helps you to protect the trailer from weather elements.
